A fully catered, fun-filled adventure exploring Blue Mountain Station and learning about high country farming. This is a great opportunity for intermediate to experienced riders to explore 25,000ha of pristine private high country. We provide horses that know the terrain and the task in hand and guide you throughout the experience. Expect a true taste of life on a high country station!

4 NIGHT HORSE TREK
- 4 Night Adventure
- Fully guided horse trek for a real high country experience
- A full team of cowgirls/guys will be there to assist you throughout your trip
- Stay out at camp for several nights and finish with a luxury stay at our private lake

RIDER REQUIREMENTS
- Only intermediate to experienced riders can book the this horse trek
- All riders must be physically fit at the time of the horse trek
- All riders must be able to walk down hill
- All riders must be comfortable at walk, trot and canter.
- Maximum weight of riders is 100kgs
- Must be comfortable to ride for up to 20km per day
- This package is not suitable for persons under 18 years of age.

- This package is capped at 6 participants and is a shared booking.
PAYMENT
- $1000 Non refundable deposit per rider to secure your spot. Payment required within 7 days of booking request.
- Full payment required 12 weeks before the the starting date of the horse trek

- Guest Information sheets will be sent out once booking is made. These must be completed and returned with 28 days of booking being made.
BLUE MOUNTAIN EXPLORER ITINERARY
4 NIGHT - 5 DAYS OF RIDING
ARRIVAL DAY - DAY 1
- ARRIVE AT THE STATION - around 1pm
- MEET AND GREET - Meet the crew and riders
- MEET YOUR HORSE - Get matched up with your pony
- RIDE TO CAMP - Join us on a ride out to camp, this gives you a chance to get to know your horse and get the saddle warmed up\
- STAY AT THE BASIN CREEK HUT
- DINNER
- CARD GAMES
DAY 2
- BREAKFAST AT THE BASIN HUT - Up bright and early, breakfast and get you and your horse ready for a big day on the hill.
- CLIMB THE HAT - Hope on your mount and head out to the trails. We will be do at least 25km of hill climbing and sight seeing around Blue Mountain Station. Views of the Great Divide all the way across the Canterbury Plains.
- LUNCH - Stop for a scenic lunch at a historical hut.
- GET BACK TO CAMP - After a long day in the saddle. We will camp back at the Basin Hut, unsaddle the horses and get them ready for bed.
- DINNER - Delicious fire side dinner under the stars.
- CAMP GAMES
DAY 3
- BREAKFAST AT THE BASIN HUT - Up bright and early, breakfast and get you and your horse ready for a big day on the hill.
- EXPLORE THE ANDREWS - We will make our way the native gulleys of Blue Mountain Station, stopping at historical huts and seeing the native wildlife.
- LUNCH - Stop for a scenic lunch along the way.
- COOK SHOP - We return back to the heart of the station to stay at our traditional New Zealand cottage for a hot shower and to put the ponies to be bed.
- DINNER - Have dinner at the homestead with the farm owners, learn some of the rich history.
- WOOL SHED TOUR - An evening Wool Shed tour after dinner, learn about the New Zealand Wool Industry and the quality of wool we produce.
DAY 4
- BREAKFAST AT THE COOK SHOP - Delicious breakfast in the wool shed.
- SADDLE UP - Get back in the saddle for a river ride and explore the tussock country of North West side of Blue Mountain Station
- LUNCH AT THE LAKE - A beautiful lunch by our private lake.
- PONY SWIM - Swim the ponies in the lake, play pony games on the lawn.
- 4 COURSE DINNER - A locally sourced 4 course dinner at the lake to celebrate the ride.
DAY 5
- PACK YOU BAGS - We will return home by 10am
- HEAD HOME WITH THE HORSES
- FINAL GOODBYES - Say goodbye to the crew, your new found friends, group photos.
